Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone using the validateemail.io website, API and embeddable widget.
Use the Service lawfully
You must have a lawful basis, under data protection and electronic marketing law, to collect and process every email address you submit. Validating an address doesn't give you permission to email it.
You must not
- send spam or unsolicited bulk email, or help anyone else do so, including by cleaning lists for that purpose
- validate addresses that were scraped, harvested, guessed, generated or bought without the people's consent
- use the Service to find, track, harass or impersonate anyone, or to check whether a particular person has an account somewhere
- use the Service for fraud, phishing, malware or any other unlawful or harmful purpose
- create multiple free accounts, or share or resell API keys, to get more lookups than your plan allows
- get around rate limits, quotas, bot checks or other limits, or send traffic designed to overload the Service
- probe, scan or test the security of the Service, except as allowed by our security policy
- reverse engineer the Service, or copy our data, such as typo or disposable-domain lists, to build a competing product
- resell or provide the Service itself to others without our written agreement
The embeddable widget
You may embed the widget on your own website as described in our documentation. Don't change how it works, hide the attribution, or frame other parts of our website.
If this policy is broken
We may warn you, limit your usage, or suspend or revoke your API keys, as set out in our Terms of Service. Where the law requires it, we may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
Reporting misuse
If you think someone is misusing the Service, email legal@validateemail.io.
