Accessibility statement
Last updated: 5 November 2026
We want validateemail.io to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control or reduced-motion settings.
Standard we follow
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Meeting WCAG 2.2 AA also covers the WCAG 2.1 AA requirements of EN 301 549 (the standard used for the European Accessibility Act) and the WCAG 2.0 AA requirements of Section 508 in the US. We also follow the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices for interactive components.
What we've done
- Text and controls meet WCAG contrast ratios in both light and dark mode, which the site follows automatically from your device setting.
- Every page has a "Skip to content" link, labelled landmarks and a logical heading order.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator. The sticky header never covers the item you've focused.
- Pages reflow to a 320-pixel-wide screen without sideways scrolling. Wide code examples and tables scroll inside their own focusable, labelled areas.
- Animation is subtle and stops within five seconds. If you've asked your device to reduce motion, the site doesn't animate at all.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced to screen readers in plain language.
- Links in running text are underlined, and statuses such as "valid" or "risky" are always written out, never shown by colour alone.
How we test
We check every page with the axe-core automated checker against WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA rules, in light and dark mode, at desktop width and at 320 pixels. We also test keyboard-only use, reduced-motion settings and zoom manually, and check pages with Lighthouse. The site has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist.
Known limitations
- Bot check: the live demo and the free API key sign-up use a third-party bot check. Most visitors never see it. If it does ask you to interact, it's provided by a third party and we can't fully control its accessibility. If it stops you, contact us and we'll help you get access another way.
- Third-party badge: the review-site badge in the footer is an image supplied by that site.
Feedback and contact
If you find a barrier on this site, or need information in a different format, email legal@validateemail.io with "Accessibility" in the subject line. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we'll get back to you.
